Top playing at a great price August 14, 2003 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Quite simply this is one of the best CD's of brass band playing I have heard (and I am a fan) A good selection of music that tends more to the light side of the repertoire (no big heavy test pieces here). What sets this album apart is the fantastic playing - through out the whole CD the band are on top form and the final production is excellent. My only gripe would be the lack of sleeve notes - but that doesn't stop it getting 5 stars. Whether you are a die had band fan or have never heard a brass band get this album - you will not be disapointed! Brass band fans I challenge you to find any recording with better Soprano Cornet playing!!!

Remember the film Brassed Off? Yes? then this is where you heard it first, a great selection of music and very well recorded. Buy It
Great Music, Fantastic Playing, budget price! December 1, 2001 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
A budget priced CD - the quality of music and playing on this CD is outstanding. For non band fans there is a great selection of diverse pieces all played with much musicality and great energy. For band fans this is a must - the quality of playing is exceptional - including some of the best soprano playing you are likely to hear anywhere.
One of the best from Grimethorpe December 8, 2000 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
A great album featuring a good mix of classics like William Tell and more contemporary pieces such as Macaurthur Park and Mr Jums. It also includes two lesser known but equally good marches and probably the best recording of Wagner's Prossesion to the Minster that i've heard. an essential buy for any brass fan.
