Definitely one to keep in your collection... April 24, 2008 To me, this was one of the best albums of 2003 (Speakerboxx/The Love Below won it for me). If you want to listen to hip-hop that steps outside of the box, this is definitely one you will like. While some tracks are better than others, there aren't really any that you will skip over straight away. Many albums have that (Kanye Graduation = Drunk and Hot Girls = Trash) so you've got to appreciate that Jay-Z put some thought into this instead of just filling the gap with generic tracks. Also this album has a HELL of a lot of highlights, including 'Public Service Announcement' (Which was meant to be an INTERLUDE!!!), and of course the well known 'Dirt Off Your Shoulders'. Other key tracks include 'Encore' (do you want more?), '99 Problems' (but a b**** ain't one) and the lesser known 'Threat'. So what are you waiting for? Buy it!!!

Wel well. This album is a toss up between Reasonale Doubt/In my lifetime1/Blueprint1 for the title of Jay's finest album.
This is a classic. Quality all the way through the album... Jay goes out in style some of my favorites are Encore, Dirt off your shoulder, Lucifer...
If you havent bought it... make it next on your list
Best rapper alive? Close... November 28, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love this album. There, I've said it. I'm not the biggest fan of US hip hop, i'm much more a UK bloke, but this album is great. The beats are great, really nice variety to them, and Jigga's delivery is excellent, he's been blessed with a great voice to listen to. The lyrics are pretty decent, not brilliant, but not in any way average, and are very entertaining in places. The real thing i like about this album is there isn't a really bad track (i'm not a big fan of "Lucifer") and there is a great sequence of songs, "Dirt off your Shoulder" to "Justify my Thug", which are purely excellent. I'd definately recommend this to anyone who likes hip hop.

I heard this album a while back and was bought it last christmas and I have to say it really is a classic, I like Encore, December 4th, Change Clothes, Dirt off your shoulder etc. The only track I skip is 'Justify my thug', but overall this is an excellent album.
