Good, but a change in direction for UNKLE September 6, 2008 I am a fan of Psyence Fiction and Never Never Land, not least because of their blend of hip hop, breakbeat and rock. War Stories is more of a straightforward guitar rock-based album vaguely reminiscent of Primal Scream, but it contains several memorable tracks so, whilst I don't rate this as highly as their previous work (because of the abandonment of beats and breaks), I like it all the same. Stand out tracks are "Chemistry" and "Burn My Shadow". Talking of which, please bring back DJ Shadow for the next effort!
loved it August 29, 2008 Without a doubt it's the best album i've heard in the last couple of years. "Burn my shadow" is the standout track on this superb album. Fans of the previous albums won't be disappointed with this offering. The australian remix of this album is ok but you'd be better sticking to this one to be honest.
Chilling August 12, 2008 I bought this album after hearing "Mayday" feat. "The Duke Spirit". There is a good mixture of different sounds in this album, it is quite a dark album but needless to say it's a very good one.
Fantastic stuff July 13, 2008 Fabulous. If you are a fan of Hybrid (Morning Sci-fi) you should enjoy this as much as I did... Fantastic beats and instrumentals with some deep vocals and raw guitar riffs all over the place for good measure also :) Great stuff, they really have matured well.
UNKLE, can someone reccomend some of their other albums? June 19, 2008 For a group i have not followed or heard any of their previous albums i was really pleased, some quite dark tunes and some fast paced dance/rock songs make for a really good album.+ the artwork is awsome too.
