Freakin' awesome! June 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like a little bit of electro, but really really detest anything that could fall into the indie category. This album, however, takes the best of electro and wraps it around an indie groove, then grabs your arms and legs and forces you to dance until you smile your face in half. It is a truly awesome album. You'll need to buy bigger speakers to get it as loud as it should be played!
The only down side, as others have noted, is that it's not mixed. Just when a track has reached a crecendo, and you're in the groove, it begins to wind down and you're left with a big empty hole in your life. But don't worry, it gets filled up again in about 2 seconds :-)
Amazing April 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great album, it will have you bopping about in no time. My personal fave is Broken by Late of the Pier, but they are all good.
Absolutely brilliant March 7, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best out of all the Kitsune Maison compilation cds so far. You can listen to this cd over and over again without getting bored. My particular favourite tracks are Broken by Late of the Pier, Cryptic by Pin Me Down & Homecoming by the Teenagers. I highly recommend this cd for anyone who appreciates upbeat dancey electro!
Awesome French cool March 3, 2008 I own all the Kistune albums, and each one is absolutely brilliant. The type of album you can put on, dance around to, and still think you're cool. Brilliant party albums, but also feel good, happy music. They always pick some of the best electronic out there, and this album is no different.
The first five tracks are awesome. Especially Pin Me Down, Fischerspoon and Alan Braxe. So addictive it will have you dancing round for days.
The "I Just Lost my Manhood" Cool album February 28, 2008 So it starts off with a song you think, maybe a little camp-ish? and you suddenly hope to god that you don't just get a fun filled cheesy electro pop wannabe album.
Well you don't, the tracks on this album flow from one to another effortlessly, and yet they aren't mixed... How they achieved this? Just by choosing to showcase simply great bands with great singles.
Basically this album is a compilation of the bands you will be listening to in 2008. Kitsuné have done it again. Which leaves the question...
Why can't i be this cool?
Highlights: David E. Sugar - To Yourself M.I.A. - XR2 remix (one starts to wonder whether any song of hers won't get remixed) Friendly Fires - On Board And even the hidden track by Yelle is one to look out for XD
