Quite difficult to grow in you head.... January 7, 2009 It seems the songs in this new album of Sharleen is quite difficult to grow in your head if you are used to listening to Duffy and Amy Winehouse..I think Sharleen's voice is too sweet for this kind of music..Apart from the hits, All the times that I cried, and Stop, I dont love you anymore, the rest are just...hmmmmm...just a stare on the ceiling hoping to grow and ripen.
No stars December 14, 2008 I don't get the attraction at all. The dullest most devoid of emotion voice I've heard in a long time. No passion.
Superb December 10, 2008 Great sounds from the Scottish soulstress. You can really feel what she went through writing the material for this album, it all comes right from the heart. It's really refreshing in a time when all you hear is terrible R&B music for 13 year-olds.
Wasn't the biggest fan of Texas, but I'm tempted to listen to the back catalog after listening to this.

along with Duffy these are my 2 albums of the year. Every track is superb, very classy production and I love the use of horns on a lot of the tracks. Only 2 or 3 sound like Texas, otherwise you get Tamla, Nancy Sinatra and a French sound.I wish there were more songs as the 11 fly by when listening and its under 40 mins long. Do another next year Sharleen!

Just too mainstream, there are far more interesting things going on in the undergrowth - for a comparison I recommend Nick Worrall. His album is FREE to download as well.
