A SUPRISINGLY IMPRESSIVE, SASSY ALBUM - I LOVED IT !! October 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a huge NKOTB fan many years ago - but I was rather dubious about buying their new album - I wanted to remember them as they were and wasn't sure whether they would come back with the same sort of stuff and expect it still to work (even though none of us are 14 yrs old any more!)
However having taken the plunge and purchased The Block, all i can say is - BUY IT! BUY IT! BUY IT!
It really is excellent. The new songs are sassy with collaborations with The Pussycat Dolls, Neyo and New Edition. I must say I have been very very pleasantly suprised with the decent music that NKOTB have produced. Listening to the album - I dont think Summertime was the best single to release first, as Summertime was probably as near as it gets to their old style - the rest of the tracks i felt were much better and would have done them much more justice for their come back - Dirty Dancing and Grown Man are brilliant.
shockingly good!!! October 16, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

The Best Things Come To Those Who Wait... September 15, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
And after 14 years, New Kids on the Block have returned. These guys are not boys anymore. The musical style is very different from the cute lyrics of the old days. Collaborative works with artists such as Ne-Yo, Akon, the Pussycat Dolls, Teddy Riley and New Edition have made this album interesting and with a sound that is very 2008. The best tracks are Summertime, 2 in the Morning, Dirty Dancing, Twisted, Full Service and the UK bonus track One Song. This album is strongly recommended to New Kids fans and anyone who likes the Timbaland style.
return of the block boys September 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
WOW!!!! 14 years in the waiting and it is over! The return has come with style and class! The boys have grownup in so many ways. This album will have you moving even when you should be sitting still!
The comeback everyone's been waiting for - easy to compete with the rest of the market. Well done, New Kids! September 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First and foremost, I was like a lot of New Kids fans when I found out the band were finally getting it back together after 14 years. And the new album from the New Kids, The Block, is more impressive than most of the music critics thought it would be.
A very up-to-date album full of original music, which can easily compete very well in the market alongside the likes of Take That, Boyzone and all of the other bands making comebacks since TT started the trend in late 2005.
The band are due very soon to go on a 2 month tour in the US and Canada from later this month, with the European tour from the band expected to kick off in the UK in January 2009.
One of the things about the album too is that with the band working with the likes of current music artists such as Ne-Yo on the expected next single from the New Kids 'Single' (new video now available to see on the New Kids' official .com website, as well as on YouTube) and Pussycat Dolls on the very fine 'Grown Man' track, I think the New Kids will not only attract their endless number of fans from the past to buy the album, but also with the up-to-date style the album brings around, I think the New Kids will also gain a lot of younger fans too.
Snippets of the new album can be heard on Amazon dot com's website right now (I've heard it and it's sounding extremely good), if you need a sneak preview of the new album before its official release in the UK on Mon 8th Sept - plus, don't forget, the New Kids will be signing new copies of the album and doing a live set at London's Oxford Street store from 1:00 pm on Mon 8th Sept.
The members - Joey, Jon, Jordan, Donnie and Danny - have hardly aged and their mature approach and attitude justified in the new album shows their new album is bound to be a great seller and popular with fans old and new. And I'll certainly be buying it. Well done, lads!
