THE BEST ALBUM OF '08 November 25, 2008
I cannot believe nobody has reviewed this album! In years to come it will be hailed a classic by all those who appreciate 'real' music.
The debut album by FE (Nicolay - producer & Phonte - singer/MC) called Connected was very well recieved by the underground Hip-Hop community aswell as lovers of Soul & R&B.
Leave It All Behind is a departure from the sound of their debut, Phonte swaps rapping for singing, creating a fusion of hip-hop and soul last seen in Mary J Blige's heyday! The guest appearances on LIAB are spot on ... regular collaborators Yahzarah and Darien Brockington are back along with underground superstar Musinah. Standouts include first single Daykeeper and House Of Cards (both which feature Musinah), however ALL tracks are fantastic.
Honestly i cannot put into words how great it is .... real music is safe in FE's hands!
