| Customer Reviews:
Quality, but not quite par excellence November 30, 2008 Bought this with much anticipation, and was very disappointed on first play, feeling that there was some serious bass missing - maybe it was just that they'd stripped it out of the Plumps' Shifting Gears track, which was a fave from Headthrash, and that lasted through the experience. BUT.... glad to report once I'd adjusted to this track, the album grows and grows on you, and it's indeed a very intelligent & funky mix. Have to say though, I downloaded the Sessions 3 Promo Mix this week, and actually prefer it to the sold version. Go figure that!! Like another reviewer said, re. the two CDs from Sessions 2, maybe two CDs could have been supplied with this "special edition", with the Promo Mix included as CD2. Enough bitchin' anyway - when all's said, still a great CD, go buy now!
Big up!!! November 13, 2008 Wow!!! Absolutely freakin' brilliant! Buy it or be a square all your life!! This album is truly fat.
Stanton Warriors march on... etc. November 7, 2008 Stanton Warrior's third Sessions CD carries on in the same vein as volume 2- a slick mix of bass-heavy 'booty shaking' (sorry, I struggle to say that with a straight face) breaks and beats. As you'd expect, it's dominated by the Stanton's own tracks and remixes with a few others thrown in for variety, the track ordering is flawless and there are stand-out tracks from Alan Braxe, Digitalism and (of course) Plump DJs.
It gets a bit more diverse as it progresses. The only track I'd skip would be the Timebox version of "Beggin'"- as cover versions go it just doesn't cut it compared to the bootleg breaks versions that used the Frankie Valli original.
I'm glad I managed to find the Special Edition for the same price as the normal CD, as the 'special edition' is not very special- it's in a metal tin (like the Fabric compilations) and, well, that's it. There's no bonus unmixed disc of classic Stanton Warriors tracks, which was the highlight of volume 2. That's why it gets 4, not 5.
Heavy November 2, 2008 this mix is amazing, i challenge anyone to keep still while listening to this mix.. track 16 is a bit special.
