Bringing together his new songs and the inheritance his Runrig years left him with, Donnie Munro puts his new line-up to the test before both his most favourable and critical of audiences: the Scots. The album has a good continuity in it (despite the fact that it is taken from two gigs), and allows us to see the aspects of Runrig which were the most personal to Donnie.
The sound is good, though the mix on the first song "On the west side" is a bit odd (almost blocking the guitars away, leaving the rythm section free to carry the song along), but it is finally a plus: aside from Mr. Paton's great job on the bass, you can hear every single move made by Dave "Squeaky" Stewart, which has to be the best Scots drummer at the moment.
All in all, a promising atmosphere for Donnie's fresh career.
