Wooden Ships - Live........................ July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A great live album from Crosby, Stills & Nash. If you like the DVD - Daylight Again, then you'll love this. If You hav'nt got the DVD, then what are you waiting for ? For me there are a number of highlights on this album, but the top one has just got to be Wooden Ships, over 8 minutes long, simply brilliant and a total reworking of the original album version.
Great Live Crosby, Stills and Nash April 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was at the concert back in 1982 in Chicago. This is a wonderful concert on CD which sounds fantastic. The performances are first-class, a must buy for any CSN fan. It may be the same as the DVD, but you can't listen to the DVD in your car!
Familiar sounds December 29, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
CSN fans will find this live CD very familiar. The show was recorded at the Universal Amphitheater, Studio City, L.A. in November 1982 and released on Video/DVD titled "Daylight Again" and also provided most of material on the CD "Allies". This two CD set is a direct copy of the DVD including the overdubbed introduction and closing credits. The music is of course excellant although most of the songs are from Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. David Crosby was in his heavy drug use period, as can be seen on the DVD, and so there are only a couple of his songs featured. With all the tours they have done it's a pity that no new material has emerged from CSN unlike Neil Young who is releasing excellant vintage concerts.
