 Yet another brilliant Enya CD! December 1, 2008
I've been an Enya fan for twenty years and the thing that you can never mistake is the unique "Enya" sound and the wonderful calming effect it can give the listener. Her music has got me through some very stressful times in my life.
Although a winter and Christmas themed album I truly feel this can be played at any time of year and would still sound great. Having said that, this album really does capture the feeling of frost and snow-covered fir trees etc.
The tracks are varied with a nice selection of soft slow tracks along with the more up tempo ones. Of the latter ones, I challenge anyone not to have "Trains and Winter Rains" going around in their head for days! For me, one of the most beautiful tracks has to be "Dreams Are More Precious". I also highly rate "Last Time by Moonlight".
This is yet another fantastic addition to the Enya collection, and I think most Enya fans will not need any urging to buy it. The only disappointment is that it will probably be another couple of years before the next new album.

She brilliant, talented, beautiful, with that enchantingly haunting voice, so what more can I say.

I bought this as a Christmas present for someone else but I just had to put it on my ipod before I wrapped it up! Silent Night (which I had missed the first time round) is just stunning. Beautiful music - you won't be disappointed

The new album does nothing groundbreaking or new- all very nicely produced though and pleasant. Some great haunting tracks and lots of jingly bells, winter walks and sad moments- a perfect xmas soundtrack.
great gift if you know the person is fan. Will irritate the hell out of non fans though!

The only other Enya album I own is Watermark. I've listened to others but they just sounded like more of the same though not as good. However, (twenty years down the line) this more of the same but better! The haunting melodies and ethereal voices are still there for the die hard fans but it also was sufficiently different and original to hold my attention. For me the clarity of the singing was better, you could hear the lyrics rather than just a murmur. There were plenty of uplifting tracks too whilst still retaining that easy mood. Quality of production is excellent (recognizing that concert hall reverb is the norm here) and overall I am delighted with the album. It is worth bearing in mind that it is a very seasonal album, not one to be listened to mid summer but hits the spot at this time of the year.
