another green loveliness December 14, 2005 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
This, I assume, is a sister album to Eno and Fripp's 'Evening Star',and a continuation of their collaboration begun on 1975's 'No Pussyfooting'. In my opinion,we have two of music's most gifted and original people here, and an album with the two of them is always going to be interesting. This doesn't disappoint, lovely ambient textures with Fripp's amazing sounding guitar seemingly endlessly sustained over the top, modulating weirdly from time to time, but always hypnotic. Percussion and rhythm do creep into the music a little later in the album, but generally it is a mellow affair, perfect for chilling out with a loved one or what you will. If you like either of these guys, or ambient sounds in general, you should get this cd and also check out the others mentioned above. Also recommended is Eno's 'Another Green World',which has some of Fripp's best playing I think. This may be the poorest of the three duo albums by these artists, but that just means in my book it gets only 4 stars and not 5!
