Amazon.co.uk Review "We wanted a tough album," producer Quincy Jones recalls in a bonus interview on this special edition of Bad. Though the 1987 blockbuster would appear to be Michael Jackson's most personal statement to date--nine of its 11 cuts were written solely by him--its appeal also rested more on craft than the idiosyncratic art of Thriller and Off the Wall. At the same time, most of Bad has aged well in spite of its digital brittleness and MIDI treatments of gems such as Jimmy Smith's organ solo on the title track. While the third best of his first three Epic solo discs, Bad carries a lot of what people love about Jackson's music. This disc also benefits from two fine outtakes, the exciting, up-tempo "Streetwalker" and the Carpenters homage "Fly Away". Either could easily have extended the record's run of hit singles. --Rickey Wright

Bad is good! February 24, 2010 J. L. Keer My eight year old son wanted this album but the whole house is strutting their funky stuff! I'd forgotten how good he was and my four young sons are newly discovering him. Fantastic!!!
Michael Jackson - what at STAR. Superb Record. February 14, 2010 Music Soul Child (London, England) The intelligence, wit, talent displayed via this album is incredible. Jackson's voice is probably the most versatile, moving, emotional and strong of any male singer of the 20th century. You have to own this record if you are serious about good music.
100% Pure Talent at it's best! December 17, 2009 Mrs. A. Jackson This album, was on release at the heyday of my role-models career. Nothing, seemed to be able to stop him. Thriller was the biggest-selling record of all time. Jackson, had won 8 Grammy Awards for the album. Fame seemed to smile on him, and he was at the top of the world (literally).
However, knowing Michael's perfectionist attitude, he wanted to do something different, something better than Thriller. Unfortunately he did not reach his goal, but made millions from a sell-out tour, and what we have hear is a well-packaged record, with very up tempo and rhythmic beats.
As soon as you hear the opening song, "BAD" you just want to rock the dance floor, with it's bad boy in- your -face attitude. MJ was not only a musician, but an actor. He could express different people through his music, and provided a voice for them. A humanitarian, he sings of gangs, suffering, poverty, fame, prostitutes and exposure. There is so much power and cool to the music. This may not be the biggest-selling-record of all time, but it sure is a must have and couldn't have been done to as high a quality, if it hadn't been Michael Jackson: KING OF POP!

"Bad" helps us realise what a special and amazingly talented music artist Michael Jackson really was. It captures Michael Jackson at his prime - his unique magic shines through every song and every lyric. Classics such as "The Way You Make Me Feel" are records that will stand the test of time, we are still listening to his music decades after it was first produced. His passing has left a massive and raw gap in the music industry that can never be filled, Michael Jackson cannot be replaced. We will forever remember Michael Jackson, this album proves what a legend he really was. We were lucky to have him.
Michael Jackson - Bad October 18, 2009 Kiwi Anna I bought Thriller, obviously the classic and Bad back in 1987 on cd then Dangerous in 1991 which is just brilliant but if you want Michael Jackson at his absolute best, Bad is the one. Personally, my favourite of all his albums, it of course has the beautiful 'I Just can't stop loving you' to the arguably greatest of all tracks, 'Dirty Diana'. Add it to your collection if you haven't already, it wouldn't be complete without it.
