Bloody excellent December 11, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I haven't actually bought this album yet, but the first half of it is comprised of material Duffy recorded with Ginger Baker, Danny Thompson, Terry Cox, etc., and was previously released as 'Innovations'. This stuff is utterly fantastic, and reason enough to get hold of this release. Amazing blues and rock and roll with even an echo of Mingus. Certainly the finest non-american singer in this genre. I'd also recommend a listen to the alchemy Mr. Power performs on Bert Jansch's 'I am Lonely' on the Bert tribute album of a few years back. Somebody get the man's new album out.
