Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
Terrace anthem heroes or rock plagiarists: how will history judge Oasis? Well, if a band's Greatest Hits is their dispatch to the ages, Stop The Clocks -- a two CD collection that spans the ins and outs of their career from debut single "Supersonic" to 2005's sixth studio album Don't Believe The Truth - suggests that whether you believe they lost their way in a blizzard of cocaine around the time of 1997's Be Here Now or put their first foot wrong the day Liam first put crayon to paper as lyricist -- at their best they're quite simply at the top of their game. First up, a run-through the early stuff: band manifesto "Rock'n'Roll Star', their first chart-topper "Some Might Say", and its B-side, the acoustic, Noel-sung "Talk Tonight". In such context, later efforts like "Lyla" and "Go Let It Out" lack the obvious hunger of what came before, but they demonstrate exactly why Oasis got as huge as they did: their affinity for the stomping, Slade-derived swagger and runway-width choruses just perfect for filling stadiums and football fields. Fans who shelled out for Oasis' B-sides compilation The Masterplan might feel mugged by the decision to reprise four tracks here, but a genuine Oasis Best Of wouldn't seriously work without the presence of "Acquiesce". Live forever? These songs just might. --Louis Pattison

2 out of 5 stars ripp off   November 19, 2008
why is stand by me not on it? and many others are missing from the be here now album, there biggest and best selling album along with morning glory! and not only that but they include tracks instead from there b-side album! oasis were a great band in the 90s but since be here now in 1997 they have either been very average or very crap, i would advise buying there first three albums for the real greatest hits of oasis, because now they are just overated!

5 out of 5 stars PURE PERFECTION   September 12, 2008
Pure pop perfection from the best thing to come out of Manchester since Georgie Best.
Oasis are the greatest rock band ever - a combination of The Stone Roses and The Buzz Kids.
Every song is a classic and equal to If Looks Could Kill, Ziggy Stardust, Suburban Rebels, Nothing Compares 2 U, Love Will Tear Us Apart...
Oasis are THe Beatles and much much more!!!

5 out of 5 stars Good Little album!   July 11, 2008
all 18 tracks are very listenable!! yes we know there could have been about 100 tracks that could have been inclueded in this! but the 18 that are on it are very solid and this would make a great present or just a great album to listen to!!!!

3 out of 5 stars 18 songs on 2 cds,not treating the fans!   April 11, 2008
Everyone knows Oasis have done some great songs, however as a best of,this is a rip-off to the fans.Sure everyone has their favourites and someone even joked to me that sureley the best of,is the first 2 albums, however Be Here Now produced some great singles "Stand by me" "Go let it out" "d' you know what I mean" & the excellent "Little by little & The Hindu Times" were great singles too.I know Oasis can put whatever tracks on the album they want, but at just 9 songs on each cd,this is poor.I know Oasis have made some long playing singles but at only around 45 minutes on each cd,we could have had about another 4 or 5 singles on each cd.Even the Manics had 20 tracks on one greatest hits cd & they had to miss some songs off,D'you know what I mean.

It doesn't matter how old Oasis get, one can never get tired of them. They are still as fantastic as they were the first time I heard them, and on this 2 disc set, you are able to listen to the best of their amazing collection of hits. A must by, also a great present to give someone.
