Amazon.co.uk Review There's a reason Barbra Streisand's 2006 tour broke the arena house record in every city it visited, and it's because she's not only a legend but (still) a performer who effortlessly twists intimacy and friendliness and fierceness into a perfect, sturdy braid. This two-disc set, which pulls performances from dates in New York, Washington, D.C., and Fort Lauderdale, will raise its share of goosebumps. For longtime fans, they'll be a reaction to songs Streisand hasn't touched since the '70s and earlier, including "(Have I Stayed) Too Long At the Fair?" and "Unusual Way," from the Broadway musical Nine. For relative newbies, they'll be a response to her between-song patter, which touches with grace, wit, and sincerity on everything from her love for her son to her political leanings to her limitations as songwriter. The voice, of course, enthralls--there it is glowing on "Carefully Taught," one of four songs that have never before appeared on a Streisand recording, and there it is again wrapping luxurious tones all around "Evergreen," one of three songs she shares with Il Divo. Streisand--diva, political dynamo, superstar--still knows how to orchestrate a showstopper. --Tammy La Gorce

amazing June 21, 2008 I went to see Barbra in manchester waited a life time to see her and i wasn't disapointed, it made me smile and cry at the same time, i am in shock that i was fortunate to take part in this once in a life time event. All the songs were just as i imagined a mix of new and old just beautiful. 'Unusual way' just stunning as was 'Somewhere'. The cd is played constanly will have to buy a spare... I am just really hopeing that the dvd will come out soon so i can keep the memories going Thankyou Barbra you are a true star! ( dvd please).. Marcia (shropshire)

Also just seen her at the o2 on the 18th, this album was a must. Having been in New York last October and going home on the day she played at MSG (gutted!) we had to see her at least once in our lifetime!
A true living (expesive to see in concert!) legend.

I have just seen Barbra Streisand at the 02 and she is absolutely magnificent and I still cannot believe I saw her and still keep thinking how wonderful she is that I just had to buy this albumn. She is truly the best performer of all time.
Streisand does it again July 18, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
To be honest, I wasn't sure at the start of this album. "Starting here, starting now" is a great track but not as good an opening number as on the 1994 and Timeless 2000 live albums, but it didn't take long to change my mind. The Funny Girl collection is Streisand at her best and "My Man" gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Same goes for "Somewhere" on CD2. I would pay 500 a ticket just to hear her sing those two songs! Her voice is definately sounding a bit different now ( still great for 65 ) and there is a mellow maturity to it that is very pleasant. Not convinced by the need for her boy-band back-up ( Il Divo)- if anyone can hold a stage on her own it's Barbra. A must for Streisand fans. Add it to your collection today. I was lucky enough to see her in London in 1994 and am going to see her again at the O2 - can't wait !!
