| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review The most unlikely of stars, sixty-something Seasick Steve Wold might have started out with nothin', but these days he can headline the Royal Albert Hall. The second solo album from the much travelled bluesman (and, let's not forget, studio owner--he didn't suddenly step off a boxcar with a demo tape in hand--refines the sound that made 2006's Dog House Music so instantly appealing. Guests include Ruby Turner, KT Tunstall (playing rather than singing) and Nick Cave and Grinderman--Cave and Steve duet on their collaboration "Just Like a King". The title track, "Started out With Nothin'", is as catchy as it is wise, "One True" laments Steve's late dog ("my one true friend", of course) and the catchy full-band "Happy Man", featuring Turner and Tunstall is as near as Seasick gets to offering a single. Without the visual impact of seeing an elderly man tell travel stories in between torturing a three string guitar while kicking a wooden box, I Started out With Nothin' and I Still Got Most of It Left can only offer a simulacrum of his live show, but his crude appeal remains obvious even as his sound gets smoother. --Steve Jelbert

Seasick Steve July 18, 2010 R. E. Shaw If you like blues, this ones for youI Started Out With Nothin' and I Still Got Most of It Left
nothin! July 17, 2010 Claire A very 'seasick steve' album. Fantastic raw blues. Fills you with a great feeling of existential acceptance. I brought it for my husband, but I haven't stopped listening to it.
It took some time, but thank goodness SSS has been found! February 24, 2010 Gear Monster (London, UK) I'll not go into a long litany about the music because it speaks for itself. I heard SeaSick Steve on the television being interviewed, they played <30 seconds of his music and I was sold on it. I have not been disappointed by the album - nuff sed (sic)
Something different February 20, 2010 Sidsidery Saw him on Top Gear, liked what I heard. The album is much of the same with his distinctive voice the focal point, but its worth remembering that the music is generated from some interesting instruments. It won't be to every ones taste, but I enjoy listening to it in the car.
Hope he's got lots of it left! February 19, 2010 The Dodger (North Yorks United Kingdom) Heard Seasick Steve for the first time on breakfast television so thought I would download a couple for song on itunes. Loved them so bought the album. Guess I'm old fasioned but I still like to have a bit of plastic I can hold for my money. Great, upbeat blues sound from a guy who has obviously been there and done that.
Each song tells a story about his time on the road scraping a living with an itinerant lifestyle.
Buy it!
