Ben Verse July 2, 2010 Sugarpuffs65 (UK) Having seen Pendulum live in Birmingham for the first time, I realised how much Ben Verse adds to the tracks. I love the studio albums but miss the "live" addition of his voice. This album/DVD combo gives me that back. The album is full on, any anyone who has seen them live will know this. The heat generated by the crowd in Brum prevented them from doing an encore, as their electronics failed. This is a must for all to experience the true performance of Pendulum.
Hits the spot! April 14, 2010 Martin Slater (Driffield, East Yorkshire) I have been a fan of rock, metal, thrash since the early 80's. To be honest, I have found the dance, drum n base, r and b etc genres to be somewhat boring. I just haven't 'got it' with these so called 'banging' tunes, especially when compared to the raw energy of some of the metal scene. The Prodigy turned my head in the mid 90's with their harder, brash punk sound found on Fat of the Land, then more recently Invaders Must Die. I liked this so much that I went to see them. What I saw disappointed me, yes the crowd was going mad but what it boiled down to was someone in the middle playing records, someone shouting over the top and what appeared to be mimed guitar/ bass and drums. I LIKE LIVE MUSIC!
Pendulum are a different matter. From the Drum n bass scene, I have both their studio albums but again, they dont do anything for me aside from a few tracks, particularly on the second album. A casual listen for me and no more.
This live album is completely different!
Combining the energy of a high octane rock band, the drum n bass beat and usual often meaningless repeated lyrics, overplayed with LIVE drums, LIVE guitar and LIVE bass, this hits the spot and is a class apart from the studio stuff. From the intro beginning, the scene is set, the crowd brimming with anticipation until the first drum beats and the MC frontman's introduction of the band. The MC has come under massive critisism from various parts relating to his actual relevance. I can appreciate this perhaps from the D&B tribe but as a rock fan, I think he does an outstanding job, whipping the crowd to a frenzy - a true frontman, whilst also looking after some vocal duties.

These are the highlights of this package for me, if you don't like these, don't buy the album. If you feel the energy, you'll love the rest of it.
In all a fabulous, energy driven live album CD and DVD, all for less than the price of a standard CD back in 1988! Tremendous.
Phenomenal Live Event Makes Phenomenal CD December 29, 2009 Adz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think I can saftley say that this is one of the best albums I have ever bought! I have seen Pendulum perform at live events on the TV but being able to own this CD and DVD just takes it to another level! Pendulum Live is an incredible experience and can now be shared with all! These guys are all very talented in their field and produce music that has conquered all types of genres from rock to electronic to drum n bass. In my opinion some of their songs are modern masterpieces and I think that this is really futuristic style music. All credit to the band I will be following them till the end. If your a pendulum fan and wondering whether or not to buy this album then I would recommend it highly! You will not be disapointed trust me! The CD on its own is fantastic but to be able to have a DVD as well is amazing. It really gives you a feeling of pendulums type of performance with an exciting atmosphere. I can't praise this album enough!

All the best songs, all the better live October 25, 2009 Mr. Charles E. Allen (Bristol, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The DVD (and CD) covers a great range of Pendulum classics from both their studio albums, with fantastic tracks from the first album such as "Fasten Your Seatbelt", "Blood Sugar", "Tarantula" and "Slam" not forgotten in favour of newer material.
Pendulum weave their tracks together superbly, and re-interpret the studio sound to give a totally unique live experience.
This album is essential! Feel the atmosphere! You *will* go see them live after listening to this album!
