Horehound Review February 22, 2010 Ms. T. Matthews (Devon UK) Cracking album - obviously heavily influenced by Jack White III so if you like White Stripes you will probably like this album. "Cut Like a Buffalo" is fantastic.
Good first album... February 19, 2010 Mr. G. Beck (Hull, East Yorkshire, UK) If you like your music dark, riff-based & with a raw edge, then this album is definately for you. Inevitably there's a mix of The White Stripes with The Raconteurs, which equals The Dead Weather.....but there's nothing wrong with that!
All the tracks are strong - no throw-aways here. There's the sound of real analogue instruments (digital effects & software don't get a look in....Goody!!).
Horehound is the album you should own. Now!

Jack Whites side project December 21, 2009 Mr. M. Collard (London uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Saw this band on "Later" & was very impressed, so I ordered the cd from Amazon, reminds me @ times of Led Zepplin, Alison's voice is great & Jack's drumming is very good, would have been nice to see Jack on the guitar but never mind, a great first album, hopefully they will make another one.Horehound Mike London.

It's a gorgeous black night of shocks and thrills. Astonishing virtuosity and sensibility from all the musicians who coalesce magnificently. They play with the finest selection of musical toys and create a richly textured mix which sounds vintage and timeless. Jack's drumming is utterly amazing, that guy is plugged into some divine energy. The rest of the band is imbued with something similar. Forget the comparisons to other projects, just enjoy. Time will tell... it's a classic.
