BAO......Benny's Best Album May 21, 2010 D. Fitzgerald (coventry) I Have heard some of these songs since The 80's As Whilst in sweden I bought benny's Klinger mina Klocker(ring my bell) album. Its nice to hear he hasn't lost his touch.
Why do we always think he can only write abba music.
I hope this makes more people to search out what B&B have done since leaving ABBA.without benny ABBA would not have happened, this album proves this in spades.
Sweden is proud of Benny Andersson, they should be...There's no one better for all round music.
Marks out of ten 8,if there was more new tracks 9.5.enjoy and relax, good songs, good album.
If people want a Abba type album by B&B listen to josefin nillson's 'Shapes' Then you will see ABBA wasn't just a flash in the pan.....

I'm really glad that only one track on this sounds like it could have been an Abba track. We've all moved on since the seventies and I'm sure both Benny and Bjorn are not contemplating re-writing their genius again. This is a great album because it's simply about music...all genres, proving that Benny and Bjorn are pretty capable of doing just about anything musically. I admit, first few plays were a bit bewildering due to all of different styles. But it's great to see Benny doing his own thing, calling on his old pal to write some great lyrics on the odd vocal tracks. Admittingly, the title track does produce the warm bubbles in the belly as it really is the ultimate ABBA blueprint and begs the question of the release of an album by dare I say it ABBA themselves. But, however much we dream and yearn, we know it's about as likely as Madonna retiring!
However, this album really does get the old toes tapping, has a great sound production, some fab tunes and is as close as ABBA fans are gonna get to all four members working together again.

Having seen Benny Andersson on the Jonathan Ross Show, this CD seemed interesting. At first play some of the tracks were a little disappointing. But it is not to be judged on the first play. It is delightful! Full of different music, a real variety and is great in the car with the volume turned up. Very glad I bought it.

Benny and Bjorn can put out whatever they like. They were richer than God from just Abba and then along comes the stage show of Mama mia followed by the fairly feeble movie that earned billions.
This album is a mix of new songs and the best of 3 albums from Benny's Swedish folk band.
Whether you like it depends on what you think of Swedish folk....Well, I love folk from some countries, especially Croatia and Greece. But this I simply do not like at all - a mixture of Oom-Pah-Pah and over sentimental stuff. Must be something about Sweden that strikes me as dull and humourless - the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo trilogy also left me thinking that Sweden will not feature on my holiday wants list. Anyway, if thats the best of the three folk albums, I will thankfully pass on the rest. But give it a try - you might like it.
Then we get to the new songs which fall between Abba and most of Chess in quality. A couple of very nice pop songs. But here I have to say that , though they may be terific stars in their homeland, I thought both Helen Sjoholm and Tommy Korberg very weak vocalists indeed.Thin voices with too much vibrato for my liking. Again, give it a try ;you might like it. I will stick to the Swedish Chef on the Muppets for my entertainment from Sweden.
Remember that it's not Abba October 15, 2009 NedNedNed (Scotland UK Europe) It's not Abba. You need to be clear about that before listening, and avoid comparing it with Abba's works.
However, it is an interesting choice, and the Story of a Heart track is very Abba-like. You are my man is well worth a listen, and Fait Accompli is excellent too.
I think this CD grows on you and I recommend it to anyone who likes folksy songs, show tunes, Abba style songs or light classical music.
