| Customer Reviews: Great Album June 21, 2010 B. Jones (UK) I've heard a lot about this band. Just decided to buy an album. Great choice.
It Grows on You April 26, 2010 R. Gill (Carlisle England) I hesitated about buying this CD after reading reviews here and on amazon.com but eventually took the plunge. Yes there are echoes of Last Night and Lost Christmas but judge the work as a whole and listen carefully more than once! Initially there is no real relevance in the lyrics, they lack the background of the other CDs but the story grows with each telling as does the music.
Not a great effort January 31, 2010 Moosey (UK) I consider myself a TSO fan, and this album was a disappointment. There was a long wait for this one and was it worth it? There are too many echoes from previous albums, in both lyrics and melodies borrowed from the past. It seems as if they ran out of new ideas and borrowed some old ones to finish the job. Some tracks tempted me to sing along with the wrong words from previous incarnations or reminded me of previous stories. Its not all like that - there are some great new tracks, but the re-hashing of their old material to make it fit into a new story is a big negative. Some of the vocalisations, especially some of the male vocalisations, are a bit ropey to say the least. Overall, some nice new tracks but a few iffy ones. Not a classic - could have been a lot better.

First of let me say i am a huge TSO fan but this album is not an instant classic like their previous ones, but persevere.
Get past the fact that it is one story split over two cds and delve beneath to enter a world of a small girl and her past.
Now the songs them selves are the usual high quality work performed be musicians at the height of their game, but it is the story beautifully told through the words in the book notes and the music and songs on the discs that is the high point.
I won't bore you with song decriptions just to say if you are a fan you will love it,if you are new to the TSO then give it 2 or 3 listens and you will be hooked.
