listen to it - no really listen June 28, 2010 maxab 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've liked Kate Nash for a some time but it was one of those albums you buy but not really listen to - then i went see her at gloucester guildhall (lucky few) and WOW what a performance! - she is so much more a performance artist than a recording artist, she really brough a new dimension to her music and it made my listening so much more enjoyable - buy this and really really listen to it or go and see her live if you can
Big Improvement June 27, 2010 M. I. Caceres 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although i did like "Made Of Bricks", i feel that this album is a big improvement. Her lyrics are more meaningful, the songs are properly produced and she general upholds more of an edge. Kate Nash has now managed to twist in a bit more maturity and darkness into her happy-go-lucky songs of every day life. I feel her biggest strength is relatability - especially for an english audience. Furthermore, i don't feel that any of the songs are filler songs on this album.
A very fun listen!
Better than you think May 27, 2010 Mr. Jk Wood 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kate Nash's belated second album is a whole lot better than I've seen reviewed; without going into much detail there is a different sound, admittedly over produced on most tracks, but there are definite memorable tunes, catchy and get-in-your-head riffs. I hope she gets somewhat back to her roots next album, but, frankly, I can't stop listening to it!
Kate Nash - My Best Friend Is You May 24, 2010 S. Eastop 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am writing this purely to state that it is stupid that people keep comparing Kate Nash to Lily Allen. It's ridiculous, especially when the majority of artists sound very similar nowadays anyway. Give the girl some credit, at least she writes her own songs.

I was uncertain of whether to purchase 'My Best Friend Is You' after reading such mixed reviews on Amazon, but I'm so glad that I decided to buy anyway. I'm in love with this album: it is unique, catchy, creative and just perfectly Kate; every song is a gem. I'd recommend to anyone who liked 'Made Of Bricks' or just a change from the same-old pop everywhere else; this is Kate Nash at her best.
