| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Gay old Paris has always had a soft spot for "Le Jazz". Here, Wagram presents Saint German Café 2 a selection of electronic nuggets that lean towards the jazzier side of dance music. As a concept it's not entirely original, but the choice of tracks happens to be second to none, drawing from a host of well-respected house, nu-jazz, broken-beat and down-tempo artists, as well as some "real" jazz musicians such as American legend Herbie Hancock (with his track "The Essence") and contemporary Norwegian star Bugge Wesseltoft (with the multi-textured "Change"). Featuring artists such as Beady Belle ("Game"), Mo' Horizons ("Hit the Road Jack"), Mark De Clive Lowe ("Move On Up"), Kenny Dope ("Mr Dope"), Koop ("Summer Sun") and Ashley Slater ("Private Sunshine"), SGDPC 2 may be a mouthful to say but it has all the mellow house, warm horns, intricate riddims, sophisticated noodles, slick sax, liquid drum & bass and soulful head-nods you'll need to make a perfect summer-evening soundtrack. --Paul Sullivan

Top knotch August 22, 2003 This album is class. The tunes all have something to offer. The Herbie Hancock track is immense and shows he still doing great new stuff even though he must be nearly 70! How can a man write a great drum and bass styled tune at his age? Only he knows. This album is worth it just for the last tune though. It is simply gorgeous!!!
It is worth getting to complete your collection July 24, 2003 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I brought this Album after buying the classic must have album The Tourist and was very happy with it. That is until I got volume 3 that blew me away and is a hundred times more tuneful and interesting. Its still worth getting to complete your collection as no one ales can put together a compilation like this.

After buying the first Saint-Germain des Pres Cafe, when I saw this follow up I bought it instantly. While I still hold the first edition as the best, this is yet another awesome collection of funky nu jazz dance tracks to jig to. Although this version omits work by Jet Set Productions and Taxi there are some pleasant surprises such as Mo Horizons cover of Hit The Road Jack and Kaori's Good Life. Yet another seamless collection to add to the first-fire up the coffee machine again!
