Tastier than a wiener sausage sandwich washed down with a stein of finest pils, Remixed is yet another staple of your musical diet.

One of the last albums to be released on the JCR sub-label, this double pack features mixes from Jazzanova's fellow Sonar Kollektiv stablemates like Forss and DJ Ghe, plus a strong Philly contingent - Jazzy Jeff, King Britt, P Smoovah - and the omnipresent Vikter Duplaix, providing remix duties for That Night and seemingly appearing on every other track . One such number, Soon, a big tune from last year's album In Between known to divide listeners' opinions, pops up no less than 4 times, which poses the question - is that a sign of flattery or just of a tune that isn't too hard to improve upon? Bedford's broken beatmaster Domu even racks up two versions himself - Ill Dub being a favourite.

Remixed manages to walk the sturdy Jazznova tightrope amidst changing tempos and a vertiginous diversity of styles. "Classic" remixes such as Wahoo's take on That Night sit somehow comfortably between the Detroit-influenced dancefloor beats of Moonstarr's Another New Day and Forss' frankly brilliant reggae tinged version of Keep Falling. Even if not all of the tracks are for you, this remains an essential purchase for Jazzanova fans and deserves 5 stars on the merit of stand out tunes alone. To paraphrase DJ Ghe's L.O.V.E & You & I: no butter, no salt, no sugar, no lard, just lovely, lovely music. Prost!
