5 out of 5 stars must-have album   June 3, 2007

This is really one of the best albums i have had. Prior to the release of the Cosmic Game, I spent a really long time in the UK going to record-shop after record shop asking if they had "Thievery Corporation" to be told "huh?". I'm sorry, but this is music which deserves better recognition. It's not like they are particularly obsecure/specialist. Amerimacka remains one of my favourite tracks.
Its the ambience of chill-out and great vocals on many tracks which really stand this out. If you can get this with Sounds from Thievery Hi-Fi, you can see how far these guys have developed.

5 out of 5 stars Washington's King Loungers continue to dominate   November 21, 2005

I've had this album for a while but it remains top of my mp3 playlist . The sleek Washington duo never dissapoint, and I thank Hed Kandi for introducing me to the Thievery Corps via served Chilled 1.For Comic Game the theme is of international chilled grooves Jamaican raga dub ,latino , flava's, Eastern psychadelic strums and also vocals from pop/rock vocalists Flaming Lips and veteran David Byrne .This is my favourite Thievery Corporation collection and with a diverse downtempoe international mixture of laid back beats grooves and rhythms, from The Thievery Corporation which prooves why Thievery Corp lead this genre and stand out from others such as Fila Brazilia and Tosca. If youve never experienced the Thievery experince ,this is a good one to start with , but be warned it is laid back and doesn't emerge past third gear.

4 out of 5 stars Great CD   July 28, 2005

I heard the track with David Byrne on a Word complilation CD and bought the album. It's really good - parts of it have a distinct Massive Attack sound. Definitely a mellow summer dance CD.

4 out of 5 stars "Game" On   June 18, 2005

On the "Cosmic Game," Thievery Corporation doesn't deviate from the formula that made the duo's last two CDs winning successes. This time around, we get the same blend of world beats and chilled electronic touches, but with a whole new roster of guest appearances. To name a few, we get Perry Farrell (an interesting choice on "Revolution Showdown"), David Byrne (the percussion-heavy "The Heart's a Heavy Hunter"), and the Flaming Lips ("Marching the Hate Machines"). But my personal standouts are the reggae jolt of "Amerimaka" (featuring Notch on vocals), the instrumental "Holographic Universe," and Sol Tapado with Patrick DeSantos on vocals. While "Cosmic Game" may lack some of the magic of "The Mirror Conspiracy" or "The Richest Man in Babylon," it's still a classy exercise in global downtempo music.

5 out of 5 stars Thievery continue to excel   June 2, 2005

I am a Thievery Corporation fan and I was not disappointed with this album. Whilst containing their characteristic style it stills feels new and innovative. Great from start to finish. Relaxed yet passionate dance music that is very european despite the duo's residence. Can't wait to catch them on their european tour.
