I came upon this CD by accident (i bought it for a few pounds on promo) and for a while i found the contemplative tone rather dull. The melodies were so opaque and the playing so restrained that it took many listens (as is the case with so much good music) to appreciate the many subtleties that Stenson's playing evokes. But now i cannot get enough of it and I strongly recommend this to Bill Evans fans. I will be purchasing his back catalogue as soon as i can afford it!
