I approached this album with some interest and trepidation. Being relatively new to "free jazz" (my only previous exposure being some Eric Dolphy, Don Cherry and maybe Coltrane (late stuff like the "Expression" album)this was unchartered waters.
Well, at least the album demands something of the listener ! It cannot be ignored ! There seems to be disparity (the trio here consists of Ayler, Gary Peacock and Sunny Murray)and yet Ayler manages to somehow stamp some theme on each piece. I have to say that overall there seems to be spirit but not much unity...
