two halfs December 5, 2007 somewhere between the two reviews above you'll find the truth (bearing in mind that music is always a matter of personal taste). Sign of the times & the reworked Ordinary Joe are dreadful. Bad production, no soul. Re-recorded Occasional Rain is good but adds nothing to the original of 7 years previous. Pyramids of Love, Turn You to Love and the superb Do it again are Terry at his best. Buy it, but get his earlier albums first.
Don't start here - please December 2, 2007 I totally disagree with the other review. This is one of TC's worst albums - cheesy songwriting and production - and should only be owned by TC completists. Get 'What Color Is Love' or 'Timepeace' (or 'Essential' if you don't mind 'Best Of's) if you want to get into this otherwise superb talent.

New to Terry Callier's music? Heard a few tracks but not sure which album to buy? Well the obvious choice is to go for the "best of" But first let me tell you that this CD is worth buying for the title track alone (you wont find it on The Essential Terry Callier) but not only that, it also has the beautiful 'Occasional Rain' which could well be the best track the man has ever wrote. Throw in classic T.C tracks like 'Ordinary Joe' & 'Pyramids Of Love' add some funk 'Sign Of The Times' and a fantastic cover of the old Steely Dan track 'Do It Again' and you have the complete Terry Callier album not only for the heart but also for the feet.
