This is the best yet from Lee Ritenour. Here you get a fusion of music styles and musical intruments from across the world and the result is stunning! Sometimes melodic and catchy; sometimes jazzy and challenging -this album is packed with brilliant musicians. The coming together of the latin rhythms and melodies of his album Rio with modern jazz fusion, mixed with such things as drums from India makes for a heady and unusual mix. Choose an instrument and follow it through a track - you will get a different buzz every time. I don't like cover versions usually - frankly, I think they are naff - but "Lovely Day" (Bill Withers) and "Forget Me Nots" (Fred Washington; Patrice Rushen; Terry McFadden) fizz with something new which keeps the feel of the originals and adds to them. A big addition to any serious music lovers collection.
