A real classic May 7, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
It was so good to hear this album which I had played to death on vinyl and after about 7 years of not hearing it I was so pleased that it had lost nothing of it's original appeal. I think the thing that appeals to me most is the production of the album which shows what a fantastic producer Russ Titleman is(just listen to Toto albums and you will see what I mean)and that really makes the difference for as much as I love EC I really miss the Titleman touch when you see him live. This album does stand the test of time and stands up very well against recent albums by Eric.
Anything For Your Love but Nothing Much March 13, 2007 1 out of 15 found this review helpful
A pleasant album to listen to. Nothing pretentious except 'Hound Dog' which seems more of a karaoke track than a Clapton classic. Barring that, a really nice song, Anything For Your Love which is one of my favourite Clapton tunes. Fair in the sense is an apt description of this album
A good offering from Eric Clapton June 30, 2001 2 out of 29 found this review helpful
This is a good offering from Eric Clapton and his band. EC's voice just gets better and better, and on this album his guitar playing is more prominent than on recent albums. A worthy batch of songs sung and played with Eric's usual passion and ability. This is definitely one worth considering for your collection. Recommended.
A diverse yet truly wonderful collection of melodies! March 21, 2001 5 out of 35 found this review helpful
I first listened to this album when I was aged 12, and instantly I became a big fan of Eric Clapton. The album provides a scintillating insight into the world of Eric Clapton as he simply gets better with age. My favourite track is Bad Love, which most people would be able to relate to, which begins with a haunting yet rousing melody. Another indication of this album's success is that it got under my skin, and I was humming Bad Love and No Alibis for days. Plus I now have a large Clapton collection!
