In truth this is a pretty good representation of one of Mayall's uninspired periods. His albums are an up and down rollercoaster and these now sound rather embarrassingly timelocked in the 70's. The bands are simply workmanlike, although Red Holloway blows well in a couple of places. Formula blues music by numbers, he did much much better than either of these two before and after.
