legend September 28, 2008 when i was 13 years old (2003) id heard soem queen stuff and thourght they were amazing to begin with, but id only heard like 5 songs, i told my mum, and then the same week because i had been good moslt likely, my mum bourght me this album, and hence forth to this day, queen have been my favourite band. its an extremely diverse album, it had the hard rock and metal and pop styles in once vision, it has the very heavy fast raw metal in gimmie teh prize, it has those fun cheesy pop songs like pain is so close to pleasure, and dont lose your head (thosE even have metal styled guitar solos) and who wants to live forever is one of teh best ballads ive ever heard. and its counterpart called "forever" a piano and keyboard instrumental of teh song, is just so tranquilizing. you will love this album! and also before i forget, the production of this album is amazin!
This is a grower! July 15, 2008 At first hearing I thought it was an average album with the A kind Of magic the only fantastic song. But, on listening again I realised that actually its pretty fantastic. Songs like Pain is So Close to Pleasure really grow on you and are as good as the more recognisable tunes. A great Album!!

queen at their best. i loved this album when i was younger and my cassette copy got wrecked. plus it reminds e of the highlander film which is one of my faves. top cd
I like this album! April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This album, along with 84's The Works, is Queen's best work of the 80s. Overall, this album is pretty consistent as Queen album's go and it features some really strong tracks - One Vision, A King Of Magic, Who Wants To Live Forever, Princes Of The Universe. After this came the albums The Miracle and Innuendo, which for me didn't work at all.

There are two reasons for buying this album: the joyous title track and Who Wants to live forever which are available on Greatest Hits 2, without the stodge and filler on here
The album did a flat ZERO in the USA for one very good reason; everything one it has been done before (and better) by themselves or somebody else. And the sterile production leaves the room COLD
What is Freddie trying to prove - yes, he CAN sing like Diana Ross, he CAN produce records that sound like the BeeGees, he CAN run off another Queen anthem in his sleep - but you've got to ask why!
