NAFF IDEA.. BUT IT WORKS! August 7, 2008 Def Leppard doing covers??? whatever next is this the swan song era now? No, definetley not! These covers aren't covers, they are recreations. In fact quite a few are better than the original - which is some compliment. Well done guys on pulling this off, as it could have been a complete disaster!
Big Fun May 26, 2008 Big fun album from Def Leppard, playing the pop music from the 70's that inspired them, nothing wrong with this at all
aaaargh April 14, 2008 This is a swindle, period. I love Def Leppard, have all their stuff, but this collection of old classic songs is a money grabbing exercise that leaves me cold. Don't buy it, it is definitely dispensable.
No! April 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is always a sign of a band in decline or bereft of musical ideas when they bring out a Greatest Hits album or even worse a collection of "Covers" as in this case. There seems little point in recording a cover version of a rock classic unless you radically change it because it is highly unlikely you are going to better it. Unfortunately all these songs are pale imitations of the originals and as such come across as nothing more than a self-indulgent labour of love. There were opportunities here especially on songs like Rock On & Waterloo Sunset to totally re-work them but alas it was not to be. Should you buy this album, NO!
Leppard do it again! April 3, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Whether you were around when these songs were in the charts or not, buy this album, it is a true Leppard classic!
