Amazon.co.uk Given the chart success of their Grammy-winning country single "Who Says You Can't Go Home," it's no surprise Bon Jovi upped the ante by recording an entire album paying homage to Nashville. In some ways, it's amazing they didn't do this sooner, given the way Keith Urban in particular is blurring country-pop lines, much as Garth Brooks and others did in the 1990s. To their credit, you won't find predictably shallow invocations of past country icons or any self-conscious, in-your-face down-home twang added strictly to remind the listener of the musical premise. In fact, Lost Highway isn't "Bon Jovi goes country" so much as a meaningful tribute to the Nashville ethos done on their own terms. They honor the spirit of the town through 12 simple, direct originals. The intimate, smoldering "(You Want to) Make a Memory," the ballad "Seat Next to You,", "Lost Highway" and its roaring celebration of freedom, and "Stranger," an effective duet with LeAnn Rimes, all invoke country's spirit, and "I Love This Town," an eloquent nod to Nashville itself, ties it together admirably. --Rich Kienzle

Ok... all these people givjng it a 1 star your not fans so get lost this is another peise of great work by bon jovi i can feel in some of the songs a county feel but that doesnt bring it down at all.
OUTSTANDING..................... April 4, 2008 What a wonderful album. It really rocks. You either love them or hate them; there is no maybe about Bon Jovi. Every track is good in its own right and there are no "also ran" tracks just to pad out the album. You will note that "Lost Highway" was included in the film "Wild Hogs". Great for playing in the car!
They still are the best February 14, 2008 Just got this album at christmas as am a die hard fan was surprised it was a more country sounding album but ive listened to this loads and i think it brillant as for the critics i would like to say that Bon Jovi have moved with the times and am looking forward to seeing them on june 11 at Southampton St mary's stadium.
THE WORST BON JOVI ALBUM YET January 15, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is bland, lacking any of the life and rockin' rhythms we expect from this legendary band. It's also very country and that means dull as ditchwater. It seems at some point every US band does a country type album maybe as a fill in until the next great rock release. This albums sold by the bucket load,so I hope this doesn't mean we're going to get more of the same.Bon Jove are a great rock band,no argument, but this is not..sorry!
Get Lost in the music January 11, 2008 I really like this album, it's better than Have a Nice Day by far. From the start to finish it's a album that will have you singing along. Some of the songs do take a few listens to get into them but in general this album will knock your socks off the first time you hear it.
The stand out tracks for me are:
Lost Highway - has me singing along basking in the glory of the lyrics.
Summertime - again a good song to sing along too.
You wanna make a memory - a good little slow heart felt song from the jovi.
We've got it going on - for me personally this is the highlight of the whole album. It will have you singing along punching your fist in the air and even playing air guitar. It's amazing!!
I love this town - great song, easy to sing along to and something that gets you clapping along.
It is a quality album which can be listened to from start to finish. Lyrically sound with some great lyrics running through it depicting their troubles of the year previous to recording the album. It's emotionally charged and full of amazing guitar riffs.
Don't miss out on this album, you won't regret buying it!!
