Best ACDC album since Back in Black! August 22, 2008
You would have to be stone dead not to LOVE this album. Ok the guitar sound and basic style is ripped right out of ACDC circa 1980, but that is probably the bigggest compliment you could pay this album.
The energy is incredible, and I haven't heard a band enjoying themselves as much on an album, since, well, probably ACDC on Back in Black.
Each track is simple, catchy, and ROCKS!! The best, (imho) track 4, Diamond in the Rough, is a monument to good-time rock and roll. You just cannot get the chorus out of your head.
Forget tuned-down guitars, 100 riffs per song, and shouty hardcore vocals about misery and death.
Marvel instead at the simplicity of brilliant songs played by a band who love being alive.
If you don't get this, contact an undertaker immediately - you are obviously dead.
 Solid hard rock effort August 2, 2008
Ok having just listened to this album for the first time today I must say that this band whilst not bad just fall short of greatness. Obvious comparisons are going to be made betweeen them and AC/DC and they certainly make enough racket and the riffs and huge choruses are all included in this album.
The only problem being though is that although a few of the songs such as Running Wild and Too Much Too Young Too Fast are certainly great and what prompted me to buy this album the rest of the tracks here are only ok but nothing essential.
So why 4 stars I here you ask? Well, too be honest this band have great potential and as the rock world at the moment needs a good-time hard rock band this is well worth taking a look but if only to fill the gap between the next AC/DC album. Fine effort but not essential.
Inspired by the rock Gods AC/DC! July 29, 2008
I first heard Airbourne on a magazine sample CD. The song was Black Jack. It was okay, nothing to get excited about. But it grew on me and I checked out the title track and loved it.
Comparisons with their fellow countrymen AC/DC are inevitable, and the fact that they play in a similar style means that it's almost unavoidable. AC/DC are my favourite band so Airbourne had a lot live up to.
But this album just rocks! The opening track Stand up for Rock and Roll kicks the CD off nicely. However, Airbourne really hit top gear with the rip-roaring Runnin' Wild, then into the overdrive for Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast and then warp drive with Diamond in the Rough. And the good riffs and hooks just keep coming with What's Eating You and Heartbreaker and the aforementioned Black Jack.
There are a couple of songs that let it down. But overall it's good old fashioned rock music. And I think that the kids of today may just be ready to get back to the roots of rock and have fun again.

No disguising the fact that the main influence for these guys are AC/DC - but by crikey they make a good job of it! Excellent, short, sweet rock'n'roll songs that Angus and crew would be proud of - in fact Airbourne are in danger of out-AC/DCing AC/DC !!! Buy this, turn up the volume, get your head down and boogy !!!
It's not a 5 star album........ July 3, 2008
but it is a really enjoyable album. Unashameably influenced by AC/DC, if you also like The Offspring and WASP (The band 'We Are Sex Perverts' and not the KKK) then you will like this. The main fault lies in that it sounds like a album of singles, and therefore does not quite gell. One tip - start the album at track 3 (which is the first single), and continue playing through 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1 until you finish on track 2. The album just sounds better - trust me!
