Yet Another Live Offering March 29, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Yes its good value and great live music from my favourite rock band. It's also a good way to get a copy of the "On With The Action" set from the Roundhouse. But unless you must own absolutely everything they've produced it's yet another live offering from an already well stocked catalogue. Most fans probably already have fairly recent releases of most of this material. The updated and remastered copies of "Phenomenon", "Force It" and "No Heavy Pettin'" are fabulous and I highly recommend these. It's great to have old music that is carefully enhanced to keep pace with technology. Perhaps I'm in the minority but I'm getting board of all this live and compilation stuff that keeps flooding the market. It's good in that it keeps UFO in the public domain and it gives them exposure. There is a fabulous collection of original studio albums that people should be encouraged to search out and buy instead. So leave this for the collectors. UFO have already produced the best live album ever so buy it instead if by some miracle you don't own a copy of "Strangers in the Night"

Under a tenner for 4 discs of live UFO? - I ordered this before the release date not knowing what it contained but thinking that whatever it was it HAD to be great value...and I was not disappointed. Disc 1 contains the hard to find 'On With The Action' set from the Roundhouse on 25.04.76 but with an extra track....a cover of the Small Faces "All Or Nothing". Great sounding gig with rare appearances of No Heavy Petting stuff e.g. Can You Roll Her & Highway Lady. Disc 2 contains the 'Regenerator' gig at Hammersmith on the Mechanix Tour in early 1982...but without the bonus track 'Light Out'. I did like the Chapman years as they were full of new ideas and experimentations and great playing by a most underrated player...I have all his Lone Star stuff and its awesome. Discs 3 & 4 contains the Vienna set from 1998 similar to Werewolves of London (Wolverhampton actually...I remember it well) but the Vienna gig just seems better... I did like the Schenker years blah blah...... I do like the UFO years...I grew up with them...keep going guys... ...anymore of this low cost, great sounding live stuff?
good value, but December 20, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This cd is a great buy if you haven't got any of the previous zoom club record releases. This is a 4cd box set that includes on with the action (live 1976), 2 discs from the live on earth box set (live in Austria 1998) & the regenerator live (1982).Other than that it's great value you don't need me to tell you how great the music is!
