Without a doubt the best album I have bought this year. December 16, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Craig David returns with a new look and a fresh new sound with his 4th studio album "Trust Me" which includes his most recent top ten hit "Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)" and brilliant collaboration with Kano, "This Is The Girl".
I loved "Hot Stuff" upon release and was expecting big things from "Trust Me". And, it's safe to say that it doesn't disappoint! "Hot Stuff" is by no means the only song on the album which will make a successful chart single. The album is full of clever, catchy songs (with its perfect blend of soulful ballads and upbeat dance floor-fillers), the majority of which are more than capable of being chart hits.
For me, it's almost impossible to choose a favourite track, however, some of the highlights of the album include, "She's On Fire", "6 Of 1 Thing", "Officially Yours" and "Kinda Girl For Me". The first two, in particular stand out and should definitely be released as singles in the near future.
Although there aren't many, it annoys me to see negative reviews of this album - which all compare "Trust Me" with Craig's last 3 albums. I know that any album that Craig releases will always be compared to his debut, "Born To Do It", but in my opinion, "Trust Me" can't really be compared because it's so different (but in the best way possible). "Born To Do It" was released in 2000 - we're now in 2007. Not only has music changed in these last 7 years, but obviously Craig has too. This album proves just how much he has grown and matured as an artist - demonstrating his unbeatable, flawless vocals, exceptional music writing abilities and touching, soulful lyrics - showcasing Craig perfectly, proving that he's in it for the long-haul.
All I can say is 'Buy it'! You won't be disappointed.
Includes one of the top tracks of 2007! November 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having not heard much from CD for some while, he has suddenly burst back onto the scene with this pleasant mix of ballad and dance. I got this on the back of hearing the opening track while having MTV on in the background and, for the first time this year, suddenly looking up with a 'Whoa, what's this?!' moment.
There are no disappointing tracks here, and CD's voice is as smooth and soulful as ever. He's the X-factor winner Cowell and co could only dream of finding in their annual trawl of the hopeless and talentless. Trust Me has current pride of place on my iPod and likely to be for some time
Craig David has fallen.... November 24, 2007 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is by far Craig David's worst album to date.
His smooth R&B tunes of his first and second album have been completely pushed off the line. The sounds are not reminiscent of his older albums and most are just plain rubbish.
I much prefer listening to The Story Goes.. to this load of rubbish.
Hats off to you Craig, you've just wrecked a good career with this horrendous album.
RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! November 23, 2007 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
Oh my god, i'm soooooooo disapointed with this album. I didn't like Craig last album " The story goes" and then i listened to Hot stuff and thought that maybe he can make a new Born to do it so I bought his new album since i was a big fan of the first two album and then........OH MY GOD!!It's just horrible. He's he making fun of us?? The only good song IS Hot stuff and the other ones are soooo bad even when you try to like. (By the way I already sold it on ebay) Do what you want but don't waste your money.
