Plant's finest April 9, 2008 Rediscovered this album a few weeks back and I can't recommend it too highly. It's one of Plant's best solo albums and a couple of the songs are up there with any Zeppelin classic, Calling to You, I Believe & 29 Palms in particular.
PLANTS BEST SOLO ALBUM August 29, 2007 I think this Plants best solo album, although the later stuff with the strange sensation is probably on a par.Not a bad track on here, may not suit those who like their loud and heavy Zeppelin stuff but a great selection of songs.
Feel a little cheated April 11, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Balls, there's remastered versions now?!?! How gutted am I? Ah well Fate of Nations is really, really good. It might sound a bit dated in parts but in fact it's one of my favourite albums, after getting in to Plant's music about 6 months ago. When I first played it I thought "ah no, this'll be a waste of money - sounds like old man's music" whereas I'm 26 and a girl. But as I say, it's now one of my favourite albums. "Greatest Gift" is of course one of the best songs on the album but there are many more treasures here.
I will never tire of this album August 3, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have to agree with a pevious review. 'The Greatest Gift' is truely one of the most wonderful songs that I know too. It is, of course one track amongst a faultless collection of tracks but, this is the ultimate spine tingling ballard! Fate of Nations seems ageless. It still sounds fresh and new and it never looses that certain 'magic' sensation that you can get with a newly coverted CD! It's easily in my top 10 out of a large collection!
Mighty Classic May 7, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I remain amazed that "Greatest Gift" is not widely recognised as one of the greatest trax of all time. When you think of the alleged popularity of Robbie Williams' "Angels", it is enough to make you weep. There's only one Robert of any stature. Planty still demonstrates amazing vocal talent, breadth, freshness and invention with the current Might Rearranger release, which since downloading from iTunes two days ago, I've played 12 times. But Fate of Nations is equally strong as a solo release. There is not a single filler track on this album. Highly recommended for any lover of inspiring, engaging, gut wrenching, heart thumping and brain dazzling music.
