Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars more to him than being a former frontman for STP and VR   December 19, 2008

This is not to be confused with the proper double album release thats coming out on the 19th of January 2009 as this one is an exclusive US single disc release that is a taster for what we would expect soon as Scott Weiland openly demonstrates how he earned his chops with STP and adding another string to his bow fronting VR for two solid albums as on this first disc is a very eclectic mix of styles over substance as the first track "Missing Cleveland" is a loud number with a david bowie changes kinda feel to it whilst "Tangle With Your Mind" does what the title says lulling you into a fall sense of security into thinking its Bob Dylan rewinding back the years singing the lyrics to what is a catchy lounge song showcasing Scotts vocal talents behind a mic.

Theres much to discover on this album of which the duscovery is the 13th secret track "Be Not Afraid" is a beatufily sung tear jerking hymn and tribute to his late brother which was originally sang at church during Scott's tenure as an altar boy and was used at his late brothers funeral of which Scott shedded tears as said in a Kerrang magazine interview.

Love him or Loathe him theres a lot more to Scott than being a frontman for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver and being a whipping boy for the media but his solo album his second since 1998's twelver bar blues shows a sensitive side to him rather than the image portrayed by the media as self obsessed junkie who couldn't handle being surrounded by musicians more well known than he was when he was singing for Velvet Revolver.
