Amazon.co.uk Review Even without MySpace, singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat is sure to have found an audience, but her oft-accessed page accelerated the process, mostly on the strength of the effervescent "Bubbly". On her first full-length album, the California native conjures up clear skies and warm breezes. Not that the lyrics revolve around her stomping grounds of Malibu and Ventura County, but her mellow melodies sound like products of those places (co-writer Jason Reeves' ukulele playing reinforces the beach music impression). Instead, Caillat sings about love in all its guises, as on "Capri"--a tribute to a mother-to-be. The daughter of audio engineer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac's Rumours), who provides production assistance, Colbie combines acoustic pop, light jazz, and blue-eyed soul on Coco. Despite her young age--22 at the time of its release--the record seems likely to attract an older audience, although her sunny singing manages to sound centered and spirited at the same time. Coco doesn't offer anything startlingly new, but its relaxing vibe is hard to resist. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Well worth buying March 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Thought about buying this for a while, kept listening and re-listening to the 30sec excerpts on itunes and then eventually took the plunge. Glad I did as it's actually much better and with more depth to it than the excerpts would suggest. Very pleasant to listen to, very Californian and very 'beach'. A very good 'summer Saturday morning after a good Friday night before' type of CD - goes well with coffee and toast!
Stunning ! February 20, 2008 Every now and then you discover someone who makes you think "wow" and Colbie Caillat does this for me. Highly recommended. And I hope YOU like it.
Good album February 18, 2008 This is undoubtably a good album. Well written songs that have various moods through out the album. A fabulous album for the summer months, or to dream of the summer months to!
Magic November 6, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
A really great debut album from Colbie. The relaxed and mellow tunes are perfect to listen to at any time, with catchy lyrics and mesmorising beats. Many of the songs can be personally related to and the feeling that Colbie has written, and sung from, the heart is apperent throughout the album. A definate must have!!
Flat not bubbly November 4, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Colbie & Jason are undoubtedly talented but these recordings do not have the freshness & vibrancy of those posted on YouTube. I suspect like a lot of other great live acts they get "over produced" once they get into the recording studio. The result is listless, tranquilised and corporate.
