Best Soundtrack I own February 21, 2005 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am a sucker for Soundtracks. I own atleast 20. This is, in all honesty, the best one. As many others have said, "Little Green Bag" and "Stuck in the Middle With You" are the highlights. However, the ones that are less admired ("Fool for Love" and "Magic Carpet Ride") are still amazing tracks. Nothing on this track will you ever fast-forward through because you are not in the mood. A word of advice however: If you aren't into old rock music, do not buy this! It is not modern music! If however, you are a fan of the film and enjoyed the music, buy this now!
Only A Few Good Tracks! May 19, 2004 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
Only five songs here are featured prominently in Quentin Tarantino's rousing crime film ("Little Green Bag", "Hooked On A Feeling", "I Gotcha", "Stuck In The Middle With You" and "Coconut"), but the record includes Steven Wright's introductions from the film (separately indexed, thankfully), as well as Tarantino's infamous interpretation of the meaning of Madonna's "Like A Virgin" and Harvey Keitel's monologue on how to rob a jewellery store. In total, that's about fifteen to twenty minutes of material. Padding out the rest of the album are three other songs that were heard in passing of the film: "Fool For Love" is o.k, "Harvest Moon" is good and "Magic Carpet Ride" is acceptable. After this the album has passed the half hour mark by two minutes. The amount of music you actually want to listen to makes this much shorter, but it is a soundtrack you'll want to return to.
Get "Stuck in the Middle" with this! September 28, 2003 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
First of all I have to say that I don't understand why anyone would give this album one star. All the songs are featured in the film, you get little snippets of dialogue from Harvey Keitel etc and you get intros from Steve Wright that also feature in the actual film. Now for the actual songs on the album, 'Little Green Bag' and Stealers Wheels 'Stuck in the Middle with You' are, of course, the out standing tracks but Hooked on a Feeling, I Gotcha, and Nilsson's Coconut song are all quality tracks too. Fool for love and Magic Carpet Ride are probably the weakest tracks but, as they are part of the film it self then you can't real grumble at their inclusion. Overall, some great tracks, some not so great tracks but Steve Wrights dialogues help capture the feel of the film. Keep on truckin'
1 Star and I'm being generous April 22, 2002 7 out of 33 found this review helpful
This soundtrack is terrible. The only highlights are Little Green Bag and Stuck in the Middle with You. The rest is awful and is clearly and attempt to cash in on the success of the film. Save yourself some money and buy Pulp Fiction or even Cult Fiction(a quite good compilation of Film and TV music). Basically the score works well within the context of the film but not as a sound track you want to listen to.
Standout tracks make the CD a winner... but only just! September 30, 2001 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
A good soundtrack to a great film. "Little Green Bag" and "Stuck in the Middle..." are undisputed classics, and it is in fact these songs which push the CD into Classic Soundtrack Zone. Without these two songs, the CD would be pretty enjoyable-but not excellent, as it presently is.
