5 out of 5 stars BACKSTREE'S BACK?? THEY WER NEVER GONE!!   May 20, 2008

5.0 out of 5 stars Making history, 2 Jun 2005

Ok lets cut to the chase. This album is AWESOME. For people that are already BSB fans: This album shows a side of the boys that has yet to be uncovered until now. They are all much more mature and you can hear that in the music. Not only is everything much more relaxed (nick doesn't sound like he's on the verge of popping neck veins) but the songs are much more grown up and on a level that even grown ups can apprecite (no more teeny boppin' to *lets have a party*). They haven't ditched their trade mark backstreet style, it's still there but is perfectly accompanied by an alternative feel (bsb meets lifehouse/matchbox twenty).

For new listeners: It's a mix of pop/rock ballads (think savage garden) and funky upbeat, alternative tracks (i.e. Rooster/Incubus) with a dash of R&B and a bit of a jazz influence to make it a *different* album.

My opinion? I was quite dissapointed when they went away and came back with Black & Blue because it was SO different that it was hard to get accustomed to... in fact I only really started liking it about a year ago. But this album is something you can't NOT like. If you're looking for pure pop i.e. As long as you love me/backstreet's back, then you might be a bit dissapointed, they've gone in a new direction. But if you're open to it then you'll love it.

Songs to look out for:

Rockn': My beautiful woman, Just want you to know, Poster Girl

Swooners: Lose it all, Never Gone, Crawling back to you, Incomplete

The rest are very good too but those are my favourites.

NB: Don't listen to anyone if they say it's rubbish because I almost broke down in tears when my boyfriend told me he had downloaded it and that it was really awful and then I listened to it myself and was gob smacked at how good it was.

ENJOY!

Sing for your supper you scoundrel hethens, sing for your life..mmm! sorry this Boy band trash will do neither, as talentless trash the album has to remind us that they have "never gone". Well they should have never have begun
I would gladly suffer pain to rid the world of these manufactured bands.
Perchased by people with no taste. Please don't play this at parties or you'll lose more friends than you had.

5 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL, MATURE, BEST CD OF THEIR CAREER   July 23, 2006

I can't stop playing this CD since I first purchased it in June 2005. There is a mixture of fast and slow songs, however, it is full of songs that touch my heart. A beautiful CD full of strong, mature and powerful songs for every fan as well as people who wouldn't normally give this group a second glance. I was never much of a fan at the height of their popularity, however, once I bought this CD (the first of theirs I bought) I was in for a luxuriously, wonderful surprise. It is my favourite CD of the last 14 months and I listen to it regularly.

For anyone who has ever lost someone they loved, this CD has some special songs on it that just touch your heart and soul in a way I don't often hear in music anymore. I am referring to songs like Safest Place To Hide, Siberia, Rush Over Me, I Still and of course, the powerful song, Never Gone. I can't tell you how many times I have played these songs.

I highly recommend this CD for all of you reading these reviews and who have yet to purchase the disc. You will thoroughly enjoy it! (but do not expect the previous BSB type of music!).

Now I can't wait for their new CD which they are currently in the studio recording! I also quite like Brian Littrell's debut CD ''Welcome Home'' which has just been released.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant album   February 5, 2006

This is one of the best albums that I've brought over the years. I brought this when it was released and still it is one of the best albums that I've brought. I didn't know what to expect from this album, but I didn't have to worry. My favourite tracks are; Siberia, Rush Over Me, My Beautiful Woman and Song For The Unloved. There are some really catchy songs on this album and others that are quite sad so whatever your mood, there is something to listen to.

5 out of 5 stars ''I STILL''   November 28, 2005

I don't normally write reviews, but for this album I couldn't resist. It's an absolute pleasure to listen to this cd and it never ceases to amaze me the feel good vibe this album gives out. The vocals are absolutely amazing with beautiful harmonies...and the songs themselves address issues that you wouldn't normally have expected from a Backstreet album. Listening to Never Gone is my guilty pleasure and I'm blown away each and everytime I listen.
They sure as hell are back!
