There is so much more to rock music than this.Delve in and you'll find some truly great songs. This is rock for those who hate rock-How many times can you suffer it! :-)
OVERPLAYED AND IRRITATING April 26, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I would give this -5 if I could. Possibly the most annoying song I've ever heard. Affected midwest soft/stadium rock dross, constanly played in bleeped version by local radio stations. Why?
Fantastic, endlessly memorable song April 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I understand and don't argue that everyone's entitled to their own opinion on something but I have to disagree with Mark Mango Bingo on this one. Just when you all thought Nickelback were long forgotten, they've come back with a cracking song, and it's not even new material! It's taken a while to get this song recognised but thank goodness it has because it's just excellent. The brilliant tongue-in-cheek lyrics are catchy and memorable and Billy Gibbons' added vocals are a particular treat. In a run of songs that may not appeal to everyone but are nonetheless not going to be forgotten even years later, this has such rhythms, lyrics and a music video that's sure to make it a hit that will be long remembered. It's a shame that it tried so hard to get to #1 and didn't in the end, but it's still a great, great song, and love it or hate it, it's a tune that'll never be forgotten.
One of those magic records with truly immense appeal February 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful

I'm so glad that this song has rekindled interest in Nickelback, a band that has been frequently plagued by unjust negative criticism. But this time, the unprecendented success of this song has given the band vital ammunition in their constant battle against the critics. Who cares what they think when the song and the accompanying album 'All The Right Reasons' have shot it into the UK top 5 and are still hanging on in there, months and months after their release. Now that's the sign of a successful song.
The appeal of Rockstar is that it works on two levels. On one hand it is highly comedic and the lyrics offer a perfect take on modern celebrity culture and then on the other hand you have the simple fact that Rockstar is just a great record. It's catchy and Chad's distinctive vocals still sound on top form. Every time i hear the song on the radio it still fills me with joy to hear something so perfect in its carefree nature, the sound of a band free to do as they want and enjoy themselves to the full - and coming up with such fantastic music in the process. The two b-sides, live versions of Nickelback classics, make for a nice bonus to this single too.

Solid as a Rock Star! January 30, 2008 Solid, catchy Rock n Roll. Keep kicking this stuff out boys and you won't go wrong. Nickleback are truely establishing themselves are a force to be reckoned with. Great stuff. Loved this track the first time I heard it and love it more everytime I hear it again.
