I love this girl, her voice is amazing, and was always my fave DC member. I am glad she has had an album out that is so different to her others
A great album!!! September 1, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Out of all the members of Destiny's Child, Michelle's solo career has been the most low key. This is hardly a criticism though considering she has sold more than a million copies of her gospel albums worldwide which is an achievement considering it is not a market well known for selling many records. However, for one reason or the other it is time to go mainstream, and thankfully she hits all the right notes. The album consists of mainly uptempo urban-pop songs with very few slow songs or mid-tempo's. That said, the next single 'The Greatest' is a very impressive ballad, not bland and dull like most of todays ballads, also rumored (now changed) second single 'Stop This Car' is a top notch mid-tempo. The album is pure quality from start to finish. From the darker more beat heavy tracks such as 'Hello Heartbreak' and 'Hungover' to the lighter, more fun, dancable songs like lead single 'We Break The Dawn' and 'Private Party' Michelle has pulled out all the stops to deliver a proper quality album. What is possibly even more impressive is the fact that she has achieved this without th use of all the producers the everyone else has to used to produce good music. Apart from Soulshock & Karlin and Stargate, all of the other producers are relativly low key meaning that this album is much less predictable and slightly more original than most other urban pop records at the moment (which lets face it are a dime-a-dozen at the moment). Michelle Williams may be the "least famous" member of Destiny's Child but this is without doubt one of the best urban pop records released this year, A HIGHLY recommended record.

The Greatest July 15, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Wel what can i say this is set to be a great album. Michelle's two previous albums were gospel influenced, with her debut reaching number 1 in the US Gospel Chart and ensuring a MOBO award for Michelle. This is album has been described by Michelle as a dance album with a euro edge. The amazing first single "We Break The Dawn" has already hit number one in the US Hot Dance Airplay Chart. Other songs that have been surfacing are "Stop This Car" (produced by Stargate who produced Beyonce "Irreplacable" and "Unexpected" which are five out of five. Lastly, a new song "The Greatest has emerged and has already been used in a major American television programme even though the album has not been released. If your not sure what to expect, type the songs into the web and have a listen, also watch We Break The Dawn official video. With the right promotion this is a definate hit.
