The best album R and B this year without a doubt June 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well i do not write reviews but I felt I had to add to hype up this album, if you buy a lot of black music albums you will greatly enjoy this album, even if you can not listen to this album on this site you will love it, songs So cold, Cant say go, Ill never love again. If i could put my own money to market this guy I would because the music is that good. He is there with Justin Timberlake, marques houston, Jagged edge, Usher, music wise that is. If i could give you a money back quarantee I would I know after you have been listening to it you will be insipired to write a review like this, Buy and Enjoy because if you love black music or the artists i mentioned you will love this one
wow! June 12, 2008 This album is excellent. This guy has talent and great potential. You don't want to skip any of the songs. The great thing about it is that it's not Americanised R&B, Tiao Cruz has a very distinct original sound.
Can't wait for the next album.
Finally something to rave about on the UK RnB scene April 20, 2008 Taio released the catchy "I just wanna know" back in 2006 and since then has been working on various projects (collaborations with Nitin Shawney, Omar & Will Young) as well as releasing '"Moving on" back in 2007. The Album DEPARTURE is here and I listened to it only a few weeks ago.
Its a very polished album that goes to show showcases the talent the UK can produce when we support, nurture and back some of these promising artists. The album shows a certain amount of maturity from the singer, songwriter, producer and musician which you don't seem to see these days. there's a certain amount of humble pie in Taios music, voice and singing (Something we Brits have always been good at) having said that the songs still focus around girls, love and relationships - but thats what good RnB is all about. Great lyrics combined with good production and string arrangements makes this album grow on you every time you listen to it.
If you like the sound of Timberlake you'll love this album - It really is a must have in any good music collection and will produce a sting of hits for Taio.
We should be doing more to support these types of artists so go on do your bit listen and I'm sure you'll buy... Its addictive!
Well done Taio on a great debut album. Kyle

You HAVE to buy this album March 23, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I buy ALOT of albums and can assure you that this is a must for all music collections. Normally you buy an album on the back of one song and then are left disappointed by the rest of the album. This is so not the case with Taio Cruz.
Every song is brilliant, there is a good mixture to suit even the most picky of listeners. Have a listen - with some of the slower songs I find myself comparing him with the talents of Seal.
Excellent.
