Amazon.co.uk Review Brandy has a lot to prove. She's had five Grammy nominations; she's won one Billboard Music Award, one American Music Award, and several Image and Soul Train awards; and she's sold over 4 million records--all by the age of 19. Never Say Never enters the scene after four years of sophomore jitters and plain old fear. And it enters with a bang. Brandy's voice suggests serious vocal training from her father, and strong songs--some written by her now-19-year-old woman-child self--attempt to take R&B back to its proper plateau. The album's first single, "The Boy Is Mine", and the Mase duet "Top of the World" serve as proof that Brandy still has the chops, determination, and cuteness to take a record to the top. --Asondra R. Wow!!! July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
All I can say is wow! If you like R&B, you're sure to love this album. Even today the beats still sound fresh. Brandy is one extremely talented young woman! I can listen to this album straight through without having to skip a single track. Brandy has a unique and raspy voice which I just adore. My favourite tracks include:
Angel In Disguise The Boy Is Mine (duet with Monica) Have You Ever? Top Of The World feat. Mase U Don't Know Me (Like U Used To) Almost Dosen't Count Happy Put That On Everything Truthfully

Never Say Never August 11, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this album great! If you are a true Brandy fan, I can guarentee that you will adore each track to the full. Never Say Never includes the singles, 'The Boy Is Mine', 'Almost Doesn't Count', 'U Don't Know (Like U Used To), 'Top Of The World' and 'Have You Ever?'. Plus some other hot tracks, with the beat made by the world famous, Rodney Jerkins. AKA Darkchild. Also included, Everything I Do (I Do It For You), which is a Bryan Adams cover. It's a fantastic album, and it's worth every penny.
Look out for Brandy's new album, coming out early 2007!
As a listener who's not into R&B much February 8, 2006 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this album as a reaction to the single "Boy Is Mine" which I absolutely loved. The album seemed nice enough but it is very R&B which I find a little dull at times, not being an R&B mainstream person. The album has dated for me now and I'm getting rid of it altogether. If you're not a big R&B fan, this isn't the cd for you. Try Aaliya's "I Care 4U", which has some BRILLIANT stuff on it.
Gorgeous! June 17, 2001 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Smooth, sexy and funky. This album is one of the few I can sit down and listen to, start to finish. The best tracks for me are Learn The Hard Way, Tomorrow and Almost Doesn't Count. Thoughtful lyrics combines with R'n'B, Funk, Soul and pure talent make this an outstanding achievement for Brandy, and everyone can appreciate her in one way or another. Even now ttis album still sounds bang up to date, and her new single is just as good...the only person who can make even Phill Collins sound sexy? Now that's got to be worth listening to! Only four stars cos I want another Brandy album ASAP! Otherwise, a perfect 5 out of 5.
Even playa-haters must congratulate March 11, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this album when it first came out almost three years ago and it still sounds wicked. Stand out tunes are "Put That on Everything", "Learn The Hard Way" and "Never Say Never". The beats are way ahead of their time and Brandy's raspy voice fits every songs to a tee. Just avoid the Byran Adams remake - it was a nice try, but nothing could make that song sound good - not even the midas touch of Ms Norwood. A defintite RnB classic.
