Not horrendous, but disappointing. October 2, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
It would be wrong to say that I have a particular problem with this album, but I can't help but be disappointed for the following reasons:
- This does indeed coincide with her tour, but there are songs in her set-list for the tour which are not on the album but are rarer and therefore should have been, (Typical Male for example) so I don't quite know how she worked it all out.
- The only reason I was excited about this album was due to the "rare" live tracks; well, sadly, every single track apart from "Let's Stay Together" is already available on iTunes! Particularly, bitterly disappointing is the live "Addicted to Love" - come on! This version was on "Tina: All the Best" from 2004, AND "Tina Live in Europe", not to mention on her Live DVD as well! So they're using it a 4th time? There were so many other tours she could have used for that, not to mention better, live versions of songs like "Proud Mary", "Nutbush City Limits" and "Better Be Good To Me" which all have spectacular lives versions from any number of her tours. So the problem really isn't the songs themselves, rather the disappointment that we have them already yet they're being quoted as "rare". They're not.
However, the two new songs are good, better than "Open Arms" from the last CD. It must be said that if you don't have a Best of CD for Tina, you should get this one, and if you're going to see her on tour, then definitely buy it. However, if you have any other Best of from her, don't bother, just buy the two new songs individually, and the live ones if you want, there are certainly several other places you can get them too!
For people wondering why!?! September 30, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
For people wondering why Tina Turner has released another hits album, heres why. This cd has been released to conincide with her tour (which starts October 1st 2008) and the tracklist of this cd is songs which she will be playing live on the tour. The cd is basically her setlist!
Classic new Tina! September 26, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
For anyone who is wondering about whether or not to buy yet another Tina Turner hits collection, the live tracks would make it worthwhile, but what makes it essential are the new tracks. I'm Ready is a classic pop/rock track which will be this decade's The Best. It truly is the best thing Tina has recorded for years and has the potential to be a standard. Alongside this, It Would Be A Crime is the most contemporary sounding piece she has released for many a year. Buy this album!
I am so exited about the new songs! September 9, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful

What's the point? September 4, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
We've already had 'Simply The Best' and 'All The Best', do we really need another compilation with no new albums having been released inbetween? I'm so disappointed that there is no new album to accompany this tour and 'comeback'. I can't see who is going to buy this cd, apart from the die-hards who will be eagre to get the 2 new tracks. As much as I admire Tina and love the hits on this album, I don't want to buy them all again for the nth time for the sake of two new songs. Shame.
