| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Some of the material on this Greatest Hits album is being re-released for the third time in a year, with "What's My Name" and "Nuthin' But a G-Thang" appearing on the re-release of Snoop's Doggy Style and Dr Dre's The Chronic as well as on the Death Row's Greatest Hits compilation. The fact that any fan of the gangsta genre would (and should) already have copies of the best tracks on offer here is by no means an incentive to buy, and for obvious reasons there is none of Snoop's more contemporary and frankly superior work with Dre on Interscope. What is left is a selection of previously unreleased material from the Death Row vaults, unfortunately it immediately becomes obvious why the material wasn't released the first time round, consisting mostly of weak soul ballad style hip-hop--hardly one of Snoop's strong points. For completists only, those looking for nostalgia should buy the Death Row label's Greatest Hits, anyone else would be better advised to check out Snoop on Dre's 2001. --Chris Blenkarn

HOT DOGG! March 10, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Snoop Dogg in the last few years has gained an enormous fanbase in europe with albums such as "Tha Last Meal" & "Dead Man Walking" cracking the euro-album charts. But before his fanclub expanded outside of the U.S,Snoop was 1 of "Death Row Records" top artists. This LP contains 16 of the doggfather's best hits while still under contract to "Death Row". The highlight of the album is "Nuthin' but a G Thang" with Dr.Dre,while tracks such as "Gin & Juice" also are a credit to Snoop.I recommend this record to all R&B fans, though recent fans may be dissapointed by the old school vibe of the album. The 1 other album that rivals this in the hip-hop departmant is Dr.Dre's "2001". I grant it 4 well deserved stars!
Snoop Dogg, giving us his legacy! October 25, 2001 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
Snoop is the man, and fat tunes like 'Gin+Juice' and 'Nutting but a G thing', just emphasize his ability to rap and use hard hitting lyrics. We have been waiting for a Greatest Hits for a long time by him and this includes hits from Death Row which is when he was with Pac at his prime. I would recomend this to any Snoop fans, but this will have to go out mainly to the true Hip Hop old skool fans that were down from day one.................................................... BY IT!!!!!!!, you won't regret it, a true one for the collection+ a must.
