I love this album January 11, 2008 I had heard before he cheats loads on radio 2 whilst i was working on saturday nights so i just had to get it. Although its rather expensive (compared to many cds at the moment) its one of the best Cds i own. I never get sick of it. There are songs for every occasion i like them all, some times i skip some if im not in that kind of mood like 'dont forget to remember me' is a bit depressing but great if your in a quiet kinda mood. I really really love 'some hearts', 'before he cheats', 'jesus take the wheel' which i was surprised about and i love 'while were young and beautiful' although it sounds really bigheaded at first but its so catchy youve just gotta join in! Anyway i really think you should get it, its my fav and if you like before he cheats (number 1 in american country chart for over 22 weeks) then youll love the rest of it!
carrie rules October 8, 2007 this selection of songs has everything i want from a country album and she sings with gusto and charm. I remeber her winning american idol and thought she'd do well but i never thought she'd record such a great album on her first outing. this is class.
Some Hearts - Carrie Underwood September 16, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This album rocks. Carrie has a great voice and even if your not a big fan of country music you might like this. Carrie Underwood is the only country singer i listen to and her songs are awesome. My favorite songs on the cd are:
Some hearts Dont forget to remember me Wasted
I loved this so ill be buying her 2nd album aswell when it comes out October 3rd :)
A country classic! September 12, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am not a hardcore country fan, however I am a fan of the country-pop crossover music, which Shania Twain has been queen of for many years now. My friend had been to America for a few months and had heard the single Before He Cheats and recommended it to me. Having heard this absolutely phenomenal track I simply had to have the rest of the album and while it is true to say none of the other tracks reach the dizzying heights of Before He Cheats and indeed some of the songs are predictable it is an easy to listen to and pretty good album: 1.Wasted-A fantastic start to the album; powerful and poignant. 9.5/10 2.Don't Forget To Remember Me-Unfortunately this track rather than the first is more typical of the general album direction. A bland ballad. 5/10 3.Some Hearts-Back to brilliance with this track a super song with a grear verse and chorus. 9/10 4.Jesus Take The Wheel-A slightly corny, but nevertheless very enjoyable ballad. 8/10 5.Night Before (Life Goes On)-A forgettable track which leaves little impression. 6/10 6.Lessons Learned-This track is actually quite rocky and very powerful. 8/10 7.Before He Cheats-Words cannot describe how much I love this song. Memorable, powerful, catchy, fantastic! 10/10 (and more!) 8.Starts With Goodbye-Corny ballad. 6/10 9.I Just Can't Live A Lie-Another corny ballad, but with a good piano intro. 6.5/10 10.We're Young And Beautiful-An upbeat country track, very very good. 9/10 11.That's Where It Is-A good ballad, the others should have followed this example. 8/10 12.Whenever You Remember-So forgettable its unbelievable. 5/10 13.I Ain't In Cecotah Anymore-Brilliant a soaring chorus describing how people yearn for a small cosy home town as opposed to the bright lights of the city. 9/10 14.Inside Your Heaven-A typical American Idol winner's song; not great. 6/10
The average is therefore 7.5/10 which just about makes it 4 stars rather than 3. If you like inoffensive and easy-listening country music then this is the album for you I hope that Carrie can find slightly more depth in her second album and eliminate some of the weaker songs, but she certainly has the potential too!
EXCELLENT September 1, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the best albums I have ever listened to. Her songs all have a real meaning and talk about feelings and experiences that everyone can relate to. She has an amazing voice to reach high and low notes and she makes every song she sings sound amazingly good. By listening to her you can really tell that she feels what she sings. Amazing voice and amazing songs. Pop with a touch of country. Catchy songs you will surely enjoy if you like pop. Definitely a 'must have'.
