Tiesto does it again July 11, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Another great album from DJ Tiesto. You'll need to listen to it a couple of times to get into it but once you have you can appreciate what Tiesto has made. Not hard trance but more a great follow on from Search of Sunrise Vol.6 and highly recommended.
Stellar! I love both CDs! June 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
ISOS 5 was widely regarded as the classic - this is way better! Very instrumental, very light on the vocals, which is how I like my trance. CD 1 / CD 2... they're both stunners. The best trance I've heard in a long while.

Few things in life are as guaranteed to impress than a Tiesto mix, and with ISOS 7, the latest installment in a consistently brilliant series,he hits the mark again. Disc one is a beautiful, chilled out mix reminiscent of ISOS 6(in which Tiesto cleverly captured the mood and tempo of the Ibiza club scene)and includes stand-out tracks from Tiesto favourites Allure and Andy Duguid, and the superb 'Space Katzle' by Motorcitysoul. On disc two Tiesto raises the tempo and pace a little, but the overall mood never strays from the feeling that this would be enjoyed to its full whilst lazing on a moonlit beach on some foreign shore. To those familiar with the ISOS series, this is a welcome addition. To anyone new to the work of DJ Tiesto, where have you been!Buy it now, get the series, then move on to Magic. The guy is a genius.

Unlike the previous reviewer I've listened to trance for the best part of 15 years so I'm maybe a little more cynical. Tiesto at his best was always amazing when I saw him but to be honest I've not listened to much trance over the last few years as I grew a little tired of the overuse of cheesy vocals and formuleaic production. The first CD doesn't do a lot to change my mind to be honest. Nice beginning but too soon we're treated to lyrics where it still seems acceptable to be ryhming sky with fly and the like. Trance to me has always been about the music and too many tracks on this CD sound like they came up with a (not very good) song and then created a beige backing track.
The second CD is much more like it, loads of nice melodies, rythmic noises and layers of sound that progress the track and the mix as a whole. There's also a definite lift in tempo and whilst some parts slightly cheese it up a bit, the tracks do flow nicely. I know the first CD is supposed to be an introduction to the main event but it could have been a lot better - so my advice is stick the second one on first...
